Toys “R” Us closed its Toms River and adjacent New Jersey stores and locations after filing for bankruptcy in 2017 and closed all stores in 2018.
I think we were all sad when Toys R Us closed. I hadn’t been to Toys ‘R’ Us for many years before Toys ‘R’ Us closed, but it was a memory of our youth going to a big toy store and that was all we needed.
I remember after the divorce, I took my daughter to Toys R Us, if she was upset, I didn’t buy anything, I just went around the store and played with her.
According to abcnews.go.com, Toys “R” Us is partnering with Macy’s. Every Macy’s across the country has a Toys R Us pop-up store. Some stores will be bigger, some smaller. We have Macy’s stores at Ocean County Mall, Freehold Raceway Mall and Monmouth Mall. Most pop-up stores are built and sell toys. Thanks to this press release from businesswire.com:
The Toys “R” Us brand will come to life in the store with playful, colorful fixtures and practical display tables for shoppers to interact with the different range of toys. Toys “R” Us will also offer families the chance to have a life-size photo of “Jeffrey on the Bench”.
