Donate toys and gift cards to help the Grove Police Department “cruiser fill” with its eighth annual toy-themed holiday event for Franklin County Children’s Services.
What you need to know: Turn in your donation by December 2 at the collection point or by December 4 at the Cram the Cruiser event at the United Methodist Church, 2684 Columbus Street, Grove, from 1 pm to 4 pm. Visit with Chief Richard Farmbrough and other cops for a closer look at Grove City’s police cars.
Importance: Adolescents in the care of the FCCS often experience abuse, neglect, or other difficult situations. Toy cars are an opportunity for society to bring joy to children. Donations can also be made online at kidsservices.franklincountyohio.gov.
“Participation in our community is an important part of the core values of the Grove Police Department,” Fambro said. “We look forward to the annual Push the Cruiser toy event as an opportunity to share the joy with the more than 6,000 children in FCCS care and connect with the people of Grove City.”
Details: The community has supported the annual toy movement since 2015, including volunteers from the Grove Civilian Police Academy, Grove United Methodist Church, Parks and Recreation VIP Youth, local community groups and individual residents.
The joy of the holiday season is back with a Grove City tradition of direct mail to Santa Claus. Elves from the Grove City Parks and Recreation Department ensure the safe delivery of letters to the North Pole, and Santa answers every letter by Christmas.
Place letters in Santa’s mailbox located in front of the Grove Reception Center and Museum, 3378 Park St.
